Quality Engineer – £35,000 – £38,000

A competitive starting salary of £35,000 – £38,000 will be offered to the successful candidate, depending on experience.


The Successful Quality Engineer will be required to:-

Conduct and define Quality Engineering activities to ensure that the product quality fully meets customer and companies requirements.
Ensure customer and company quality requirements are maintained throughout production life.
Maintain effective communication throughout the business to ensure a robust QMS is implemented and maintained.
Conduct Internal Audits covering both Quality and Environmental Standards.
Identify 5S concerns and liaise with the relevant team(s).
Assist in maintaining the Environmental Management System [EMS] to ISO14001.
Conduct drawing and specification review as part of feasibility studies. Identify concerns and liaise with relevant internal and customer contacts until the concerns are resolved.
Ensure that customer requirements are clearly understood and translated into necessary controls, standards & processes.
Provide active input into, PFMEA meetings and subsequent reviews.
Evaluate dimensional and visual assessment of components & raw material, identifying errors and implementing necessary corrective action(s).
Assist the Inspection Instructions based on the Control Plan/Gauge Plan/FMEA and gain concurrence form specified areas.
Conduct pre-production audits on samples prior to despatch to the customer and ensure that they meet specified requirements.
Monitor process capability during production and agree actions to correct non stable/non capable processes.
Ensure all quality documentation is updated in line with company procedures
Assist in team member/team leader training in quality issues.
Visit/liaise with customers and suppliers as required.
To provide support to manufacturing teams to resolve quality concerns and promote quality.


The Successful Quality Engineer will have:-

Preferably educated to HNC level, or equivalent
Thorough understanding of the automotive industries requirements.
Practical engineering experience
Good communication skills with all levels within the company and with customers.
Attention for detail and the determination to insist on quality standards which meet customer requirements.
A good understanding of ISO9001 IATF16949 and Environmental Standard ISO14001.
Flexibility to undertake training and provide support within Quality Department as required.

Working hours: Monday – Thursday, 8am – 5pm and Friday 8am – 1pm.
